Creating Capacity

Support states and communities to build systems of care

Pritzker Children’s Initiative supports organizations and coalitions in states and communities to promote high quality early learning and development.

View Highlights

State Grants

PCI is supporting coalitions in twenty-one states across the country to increase the number of infants, toddlers, and their families receiving high-quality services by 50% over the next five years. Through its partners, PCI will offer the coalitions capacity building support, communications assistance, and peer-learning opportunities.

Community Grants

PCI is supporting the development of ambitious local plans in 29 communities designed to reach at least 10% of their at-risk PN-3 population. Each community has launched local efforts to improve child and family outcomes through the expansion of programs and policies and strengthening of PN-3 systems.

NCIT Solutions Center

The National Collaborative for Infants and Toddlers Solutions Center is an online resource for policymakers, advocates, and engaged citizens to find information about what’s working in terms of PN-3 policies and programs. The website, which is continually refreshed with examples of state and local innovation, includes resources that support the measurement of impact, making the case, and opportunities to connect with others.

NCIT Capacity Building Hub

The Capacity-Building Hub supports PCI’s state and community grantees to build their coalitions, identify gaps and opportunities in their efforts to support infants and toddlers, and clarify their funding needs. Most importantly, the Hub will help execute action plans that will reduce the gap between children and families served by high-quality programs and those in need by 50% by 2025.
